The Prospective Marriage visa (subclass 300) allows you to come to Australia to marry your prospective spouse and apply for a Partner visa. This visa is designed for people who want to get married to their prospective spouse and then live together in Australia.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the Prospective Marriage visa (subclass 300), you must meet the following requirements:

  • You must be 18 years old or older
  • You must have a sponsor who is an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen
  • You must intend to marry your prospective spouse before the visa period ends
  • You must be outside of Australia when you apply for this visa
  • You must not have had a visa cancelled or an application refused
  • You must meet the health and character requirements
  • You must have no debt to the Australian Government
  • You must meet the best interests of the child requirement
